A tubing we shall go

A tubing we shall go

This weekends adventure took us out to The Summit at Snoqualmie for a day of tubing down a big hill covered in snow. Snoqualmie Pass takes I-90 through the Cascade Range and is one of the three main passes to get on the other side of the mountains in Washington. It is one of the closest ski areas to Seattle, being about 45 minutes outside of the city.

Welcome to the mountain

Welcome to the mountain

Since Shelby comes from the land of flatness and little snow, this weekend we decided to take advantage of the surrounding mountains and just one of the many activities they have to offer. From our last few posts, you can tell we’ve been working on acquiring all of our backpacking gear rather than our winter sports gear. Because of this we decided that tubing would be a good, relatively cheap option to get out and go into the snow. Getting to the pass proved to be extremely easy this weekend, the weather was mostly cloudy with the roads being bare and a little wet.

Over the course of this short outing we got a few pictures to share and video of one of my trips down the hill.

Stay tuned for our next post, tomorrow we are going to Wallace Falls state park, but this time we’re going to hike up to Wallace Lake rather than the falls.

  • That looks like so much fun! Did you feel out of control on the way down or was it just fun? I really like the way you added the pictures. Nice feature. 🙂

You definitely got going a lot faster than you would expect, and could be a little nerve racking when you got close to the edge of your lane. It was a blast!
I’m glad you like the slideshow, I’m looking for one that fits the theme a little bit better.

  • Ugh, I’ve always wanted to do this. Texas! *raises fist to the sky*
